Terms of Service
Last updated: July 10, 2026
This document is a public offer and a contract of adhesion within the meaning of articles 633, 634, 641 and 642 of the Civil Code of Ukraine and article 11 of the Law of Ukraine "On Electronic Commerce". It is addressed to an indefinite number of individuals and sets out the terms on which Individual entrepreneur (FOP) Povnych Kostiantyn Petrovych (the "Provider", "LAI", "we") grants access to the https://lai.com.ua website and the AI assistant that helps you understand Ukrainian legislation in plain language (together, the "Service").
By ticking "I agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy" during registration, creating an account, or using the Service, you accept this offer and conclude an electronic contract with the Provider on the terms below (the "Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Your relationship with the Provider is governed, in particular, by the Civil Code of Ukraine and the laws of Ukraine "On Electronic Commerce", "On Consumer Protection", "On Digital Content and Digital Services", and "On Personal Data Protection". The Privacy Policy is an integral part of these Terms.
1. Provider details

The Provider's activity is not subject to licensing. The Provider is a group 3 single-tax payer and is not a VAT payer; prices for paid services (where offered) are stated in Ukrainian hryvnia and include all taxes and charges — no additional fees are collected from you.
The Provider is not an advocate, law office, or bar association and does not practise advocacy within the meaning of the Law of Ukraine "On the Bar and Practice of Law".
2. Not legal advice
LAI provides general legal information, not legal advice. The Service uses artificial intelligence and may produce answers that are incomplete, out of date, or wrong. Using the Service does not create a lawyer–client relationship, and nothing it produces is a substitute for advice from a qualified lawyer who knows the facts of your case. Do not rely on the Service for decisions that have legal consequences without confirming them with a qualified professional.
3. Who may use the Service
You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity required to enter into this contract. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
4. Your account
Using the Service requires an account with your email address and a password. You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping your password confidential. Sharing account access with third parties is not allowed. Tell us at support@lai.com.ua if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
5. Scope of the Service. Pay-as-you-go
5.1. The Service uses a prepaid (pay-as-you-go) model. New users receive a starting balance of UAH 100 to try the Service. The starting balance cannot be withdrawn or refunded as cash and may expire as shown in your account.
5.2. Usage is deducted from your balance as you use the Service (including assistant replies). A typical question costs only a few hryvnias; the exact amount depends on processing volume. Your balance is always visible in the account. Purchased (topped-up) balance does not expire while the account remains active.
5.3. Prices are stated in Ukrainian hryvnia. Top-ups are made by bank card or another available method through the licensed payment provider WayForPay (or another listed on the payment page). We do not collect or store your full card details — they are processed by the payment provider in accordance with PCI DSS.
5.4. Paid services are provided on a prepayment basis. Provision starts when funds are credited to your account balance.
5.5. By topping up you consent to the immediate start of the electronically delivered service — before the expiry of the 14-day withdrawal period provided by article 13 of the Law of Ukraine "On Consumer Protection" — and confirm you have been notified of this.
5.6. Payment methods: Visa and Mastercard payment cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay — via the WayForPay payment service (or another method listed on the payment page).
5.7. How and when the service is provided. The Service is a digital service delivered exclusively online through the https://lai.com.ua website: access opens immediately after registration, and paid features become available immediately after funds are credited to your balance, around the clock. No physical goods are shipped and no delivery services are involved. The Service is available in all cities of Ukraine and from abroad — all you need is an internet connection.
6. Withdrawal and refunds
6.1. You may withdraw from a top-up within 14 calendar days of payment and receive a refund of the unused portion of purchased funds, no questions asked. The starting (gift) balance is not refundable.
6.2. After 14 days, unused purchased balance may be refunded on request in a reasonable amount, taking into account services already provided; details are agreed individually.
6.3. To request a refund, write to support@lai.com.ua from the email address your account is registered to, stating the date and amount of the payment. Refunds are made using the same payment method within 7 business days of the refund being confirmed (the time it takes to reach your account depends on your bank).
6.4. If paid services were unavailable through the Provider's fault for a substantial time, we will, at your choice, credit a corresponding amount to your balance or refund pro rata to the period of unavailability.
6.5. Nothing in this section limits the rights granted to you by the Law of Ukraine "On Consumer Protection" and other applicable law.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms;
- present the Service's output to others as professional legal advice;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the Service;
- perform automated bulk collection (scraping) of the Service's content without our written consent;
- upload content that you have no right to share or that infringes the rights of others.
If you breach these Terms, we may restrict, suspend, or terminate your access to the Service (section 14).
8. Your content
You keep all rights you have in the questions, documents, and other material you submit ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited licence to store and process Your Content solely to operate, secure, and improve the Service. Chat content can be sensitive; how we handle it is described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Intellectual property
The Service itself — the software, design, databases, and trade designations — belongs to the Provider and is protected by law. Official texts of legislation are not subject to copyright, and these Terms do not restrict their use. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service under these Terms.
10. Availability and changes to the Service
We may add to, change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service. We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. If a change materially reduces the scope of services you have already paid for, the refund rules in section 6 apply.
11. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties as to accuracy, completeness, currency, or fitness for a particular purpose. This disclaimer does not override statutory requirements on the conformity of digital services and does not limit your rights as a consumer.
12. Limitation of liability
12.1. To the extent permitted by law, the Provider is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, lost profits, or the consequences of decisions made in reliance on information from the Service without confirming it with a qualified professional.
12.2. To the extent permitted by law, the Provider's aggregate liability under this contract is limited to the amount you actually paid for the Service during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
12.3. The limitations in sections 11 and 12 do not apply where liability cannot be excluded or limited by law, in particular: for harm to life or health; in the case of wilful misconduct; or in respect of mandatory consumer rights under article 18 of the Law of Ukraine "On Consumer Protection". Unclear or ambiguous provisions of these Terms are interpreted in your favour.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will give at least 10 calendar days' notice of material changes before they take effect — by email and/or a notice in the Service. If you do not agree with the changes, you may stop using the Service and terminate the contract before they take effect; any unused paid period will be refunded under section 6. Continuing to use the Service after the updated Terms take effect means you accept them.
14. Term and termination
14.1. The contract takes effect upon acceptance and is concluded for an indefinite term.
14.2. You may terminate the contract at any time by deleting your account or writing to support@lai.com.ua.
14.3. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, notifying you of the reason, and may discontinue the Service as a whole with at least 30 calendar days' notice. If termination is not caused by your breach, the unused paid period will be refunded.
15. Dispute resolution
15.1. We aim to resolve all issues by negotiation. Send your complaint or claim to support@lai.com.ua — we will respond within 14 calendar days of receipt.
15.2. If a dispute is not settled within 30 calendar days of receipt of the claim, it is referred to a court in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine.
15.3. The pre-trial procedure is optional and does not limit your right to go to court directly, including a consumer's right to sue at their registered place of residence or stay.
16. Governing law and language
16.1. These Terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine. If you use the Service as a consumer from outside Ukraine, these Terms do not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the law of the country of your habitual residence.
16.2. The Terms are concluded in Ukrainian; the English translation is provided for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the Ukrainian version prevails.
