Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 10, 2026

LAI provides general legal information, not legal advice. Always consult a qualified lawyer for your specific situation.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the LAI Service, the purposes and legal bases on which we process it, and the rights you have. We follow the Law of Ukraine "On Personal Data Protection", article 14 of the Law of Ukraine "On Electronic Commerce", and aim to adhere to the principles of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Data controller

The controller of your personal data is Individual entrepreneur (FOP) Povnych Kostiantyn Petrovych, Tax ID (RNOKPP) 3267921595, tax address: Ukraine, 90212, Zakarpattia region, Berehove district, Batiovo, 20 Nova St.. For anything related to your data, contact support@lai.com.ua.

2. Data we collect

  • Account data — your email address and, optionally, your name.
  • Chat content — the questions you ask, documents you upload, and the assistant's answers. This content can be highly sensitive, as it may reveal details about your legal, financial, family, or health situation. We treat it with particular care and do not use it for any purpose other than providing and securing the Service.
  • Profile data — any personas or profiles you create to tailor answers.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, and usage logs needed to run and secure the Service.
  • Payment data — if you top up your balance, the payment is processed by a licensed payment service provider (WayForPay or another listed on the payment page). We do not receive or store your full card number; we only receive the data needed to confirm the payment (masked card number, amount, transaction status).

3. Purposes and legal bases

We process data on the bases provided by article 11 of the Law of Ukraine "On Personal Data Protection":

  • conclusion and performance of a contract (providing the Service: answering your questions, keeping chat history, personalisation, support) — under article 14 of the Law of Ukraine "On Electronic Commerce", registering in the Service constitutes consent to the processing of your data for the purpose of the transaction;
  • compliance with a legal obligation (accounting and tax records for payments);
  • legitimate interest (securing the Service, preventing abuse, diagnosing and improving its operation);
  • your consent — for purposes beyond the above (for example, marketing emails or analytics where required). You may withdraw consent at any time.

We do not use your data for purposes other than those stated, and we do not sell it.

4. AI processing and data processors

To generate answers, we send your prompt and the relevant context to third-party large-language-model providers acting as processors under our instructions. We share only what is necessary, require them to protect your data, and do not allow them to use your data to train their models. We also use hosting (infrastructure in the European Union), email delivery, and payment service providers. Where article 21 of the Law of Ukraine "On Personal Data Protection" requires it, we notify you of transfers of your data to third parties within the statutory time limits.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

The Service uses essential cookies — in particular a session cookie for authentication after you sign in. Language and interface preferences are stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and are not shared with anyone.

In addition, we use Google Analytics 4 for anonymised visit statistics (which pages are viewed, where visitors come from) to improve the Service. Analytics cookies are set only with your prior consent, which we request via a consent banner on your first visit. Without your consent, analytics stays off. You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of the page. Data sent to Google Analytics is anonymised; we do not share your chat content, email address, or other account data with Google. We use no advertising trackers.

6. Data retention

We keep your account and chat data while your account is active. You can delete individual conversations at any time. After you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except data we must keep longer under the law (for example, primary payment records for the periods set by tax legislation).

7. International transfers

Our providers (including hosting and language-model providers) may process data outside Ukraine — in the European Economic Area and the United States. Where that happens, we take steps to ensure an adequate level of protection, including contractual data-protection safeguards.

8. Your rights

Under article 8 of the Law of Ukraine "On Personal Data Protection" you have the right to:

  • know the purposes of processing and the sources and location of your data;
  • access your data and receive confirmation of whether it is processed (within 30 calendar days);
  • demand correction of inaccurate data and deletion of unlawfully processed data;
  • object to processing and attach reservations when giving consent;
  • withdraw your consent to processing at any time;
  • know the mechanism of automated processing and be protected from automated decisions that have legal effects for you;
  • complain to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights or go to court.

To exercise these rights — including deleting your account together with its chat history or getting a copy of your data — write to support@lai.com.ua.

9. Security

We use technical and organisational safeguards: encryption in transit, access controls, and logging. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but if an incident threatens your rights we will notify you without undue delay.

10. Children

The Service is not intended for people under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you become aware that a child has provided us personal data, let us know and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy. If a change is material, we will notify you by email and/or a notice in the Service, and the "last updated" date above will change.

12. Contact
